2002 Riverbank Clean-Up Prize Drawing

On November 6, 2002, Julie Sweet, Broome County Planning Commissioner and the EMC drew winners from a pool of interested Riverbank Clean-Up volunteers. Eastern Mountain Sports donated 13 prizes for participants. The following people received prizes:

2002 Riverbank Clean-Up Great Success

     BINGHAMTON, NY - On a quiet Saturday morning in October, you may have noticed a few of the 423 volunteers who participated in the Broome County Environmental Management Council's (EMC) 17th Annual Riverbank Clean-Up. The event was a great success, with an unprecedented number of volunteers at 26 sites on the Susquehanna, Chenango and Tioughnioga Rivers and Little Choconut and Nanticoke Creeks. Over seven tons of garbage and debris were removed from our local watershed by these stewards of our environment. Detailed results can be found on the EMC's website at www.gobroomecounty.com.
