Broome-Tioga Workforce New York to recruit for Weatherization Technician Program
 
Individuals between the ages of 18-21 years interested in learning to be a Weatherization Installer-Technician should consider applying for training with  Broome-Tioga Workforce New York. Interested applicants must  schedule an interview by calling Broome-Tioga Workforce Center at 607-778-2136, or by stopping by at the Workforce Center at 171 Front Street in Binghamton. Interviews will be scheduled starting January 10-25, 2012, from 9:00am-3:00pm, at the Workforce Center.
 
Successful applicants will attend a four week training program at Broome-Tioga BOCES beginning January 30- February 24,2012. Training will include construction skills, environmental hazard awareness, sealing and insulating duct work, removal and replacement of doors, windows and drywall and installation of insulation.
 
Worksite placements with local employers will follow the training components for mastery of the skills. Trainees will be paid for the worksite placements.
 
Broome-Tioga Workforce New York operates two One Stop Centers to assist local businesses with recruiting and training, and to assist local residents by providing career advice and training assistance. The Workforce New York offices are located at 171 Front St in Binghamton, and at the Tioga County Human Services building located on Route 38 in Owego.
