Interview Techniques (9am-12pm)
Discover effective, proven techniques to prepare you for tough job interviews. Practice with a short mock interview to help to prepare and strategize for future interviews.
All About Civil Service (9am-12pm)
Are you interested in Civil Service but confused by the process? Learn how to locate job openings and listings for State, County and Federal employment. Get test-taking tips and advice on preparing for an exam, review sample exam questions, and try some hands-on exercises.
Self-Employment Assistance Program (2:30pm-3:30pm)
With (SEAP) , you can collect the Unemployment Insurance benefits you need to pay your bills while you work on starting you business.
Job Zone Workshop (8:30am-12pm)
Uncover all the job searching tools of Jobzone. Learn how to complete work search record, use the career exploration features and create a resume.
Job Search Strategies (8:30am-10am)
Learn successful job search strategies you can use to expedite your job search. What jobs are hot in our area right now? What do they pay? What are the fastest growing occupations? These and other questions will be explored to assist you with your job search.
Road to Success (8:30am-10am)
Learn your rights as a job seeker and how certain convictions can affect employment. Learn about local employers hiring ex-offenders and how to prepare for interviews.

Step-up is a program that helps young adults (ages 18-24) prepare for success in the workforce, then assists them with obtaining employment. A variety of training and support are provided to low income young workers to gain the knowledge and skills to become competent members of the workforce.
Metrix Learning Orientation
Tuesdays, 2pm-3pm (11/3,11/17)
Discover free, effective on-line courses to enhance our skills and increase your marketability to employers. Talk to a staff member to see if this training is right for you (Prerequisite - you must have good computer skills to utilize these courses).
Basic Computer Skills Training (Broome)
Attend for One Week - M-F, 9am-12pm
In one quick week you can learn inportant skills that will help you with your job search and your next job! Do you want to learn the basics of Microsoft Word? Do you need to set up an e-mail account or learn to attach your resume to an email or on-line application? Do you want to learn how to use the Internet to find and navigate job search websites?
Intermediate Computer Skills (Broome)
Attend for One Week - M-F, 1pm-4pm
Do you want to learn more about Microsoft Word and Excel? Attend these afternoon sessions to bring your skills to the next level.
T.A.L.L (Tioga Adult Learning Lab) (Thursdays 2pm-4pm)
OPEN Computer Lab Walk-in or by Appointment at the Tioga Employment Center 1062 State Route 38 in Owego
Staff will be able to answer questions and provide instruction on the basics of computer use, including Microsoft programs and the Internet. You can utilize this time to practice your Keyboarding skills or create or update your resume.
